Description: 

Mediterranean sclerophyllous forest &8210 - Rock cliff – low altitude &8330 - brackish water lake with underground connection to seawater – low altitude – high level of human disturbance

Justification: 

The lake includes the only permanent freshwater spring of Hymettus; its eastern and southern shores are covered by dense degraded maquis, which is bordered by one of the few rock faces in the lowlands of Hymettus; it thus represents a unique habitat, which is of potential importance for amphibians and birds
